Common questions

How much does a plumber cost?

It depends on the job and how bad the problem is. That is why the first step is a phone call. Describe the problem and get your free estimate on the phone, with upfront pricing.

Will I talk to a real person?

Yes, you will.

Do I need to fill out a form?

No forms and no waiting on emailed quotes. One phone call is all it takes.

Can I get help at night or on a weekend?

We have plumbers ready to help families in the community 24/7, but moment-to-moment availability depends on demand. Call to find out how soon we can service your home.

Should I wait to call?

You already know that plumbing problems don't go away on their own. And waiting just increases the risks to your house. Plumbers see this hesitation all the time. Instead of regretting not calling earlier, just make that 2-minute call now and get your free estimate.

People also ask

Can I mix PEX with the copper I already have?

Yes, with proper transition fittings, and it's the normal way a partial repipe gets done. What matters is that the joins are made correctly and stay accessible. A plumber can plan the run so the old sections that are still sound are left alone.

Why is only the hot side slow?

That points at the water heater or the hot line rather than the incoming supply. Sediment in the tank, a failing dip tube, or scale in old galvanised hot piping all do it. Testing the cold side at the same fixture separates the two.

What's the first thing to do in a burst?

Close the main shutoff, then open the lowest tap in the house to drain the pressure out of the system. If water is anywhere near electrical, kill the breaker. Then call.

Does a crawlspace house lose more heat through the pipes?

It loses more heat from the hot water line, yes, because the run sits in outside air. Insulating it is cheap and helps the wait at the tap. Houses around Cross Hill and Ware Shoals with long under-floor runs notice it most.
